Trip in a nutshell
After hanging in Marseille with friends, I spent a week working remotely in Lisbon + seeing some friends.
Was still a bit cold/rainy in early March to really consider it a sunny getaway, but the weather beat Berlin and so did the atmosphere.
My tips
Where I stayed
In an Airbnb in Alfama. I loved the area, particularly the Miradouro de Sta. Lucia, get a little beer and a croquette at the Quiosque (kiosk) right there and just vibe out.
FYI, it’s pretty inaccessible to cars and there are a ton of steps, so I wouldn’t stay here if you’re visiting with parents or older trip companions generally, it’s really old/steep/etc.
What I did
Didn’t really play tourist since I was living the remote work life.
That said, I liked working at Outsite Lisbon’s Cais do Sodre location, and hitting up the nearby Time Out Market for lunch.
Also, La Paz is a dope clothing shop. Got a T-shirt I love there.
What I ate/drank
- DoVigario Pub and Records: My own personal heaven. Tapas, local beer, vinyl on the speakers + for sale. The cod salad and grilled chorizo blew my mind.
- Flores da Pampa: Outstanding tapas, amazing ambience (DJ + live music, lots of plants), and a delicious natural wine list. Absolute must. I’d come back to LIS just to go here
- Senor Iberico: Tasty tapas, jamon sliced right in front of you
- Foxtrot: Cool speakeasy, throwback/vintage drinks
- Damas: Tapas! Again! Great dinner choice if you’re in Graca
- Koppu Ramen: Great. If you need something other than tapas.
